These Optimist lifebuoys are made of polyurethane-coated nylon. They are approximately half the weight and significantly stronger than PVC or PVC-coated nylon lifebuoys. Some lifebuoys are equipped with a twist-lock valve. This valve is attached to a tube. It allows the lifebuoy to inflate and deflate quickly and easily.
